How Long is a Piece of String?

This animation was produced for a series of concerts forming part of the Barbican’s creative learning programme for schools. The concerts explored musical themes and introduced stringed instruments from around the world to Key Stage 2 children.

The animation was designed to help explain how stringed instruments create sound and used simple line drawn characters to help visualise themes like sympathetic strings, pitch and sound duration. These then formed visual backdrops to the live stage performances.
