Whitby Abbey animation
Mel designed and produced this animated film as part of a package of works incorporating digital design and illustration to convey the historical narrative of Whitby Abbey and its primary characters as part of the wider interpretation at the new visitor centre.
The film uses drawn animation to playfully lead the viewer along a visual journey through Whitby’s history, from the founding of the Abbey by Abbess Hilde in the 7th century to Bram Stoker’s visit to the town in 1890 which provided inspiration for his most famous novel Dracula.
No bats were harmed in the making of this film.
